These three lush brush pens from Japan are my ongoing favourite brush pens: a deep black (thick brush), a deep black (thin brush), & a cool grey (thick brush). All three pens have synthetic bristles, and a fabulously fine tip—The fine brush has an even finer tip. They feel like you are drawing with a traditional sumi-e brush. And in a single swoosh onto your paper, you can achieve a luscious wide shape or a very fine delicate line.

Both inks are water-based, highly pigmented & waterproof as soon as dry. So, they are a splendid addition on top of watercolour or as a base beneath. Both pens are delightful to draw with, use for calligraphy, or hand-lettering. The brush tip holds its shape perfectly, and the ink supply seems endless. The inks in both pens flow smoothly and consistently on a multitude of paper finishes, from Rivoli to Hahnemühle and beyond.
