These notebooks from Japan are as handsome as they are handy. They are slim (⅜), with heavy chipboard covers and 80 creamy white pages. The notebooks measure 6⅞ x 9¾, which is an elegant proportion. The logo is stamped in matte pigment foil, in your choice of: front-door red, deep royal blue, or golden-yellow—with matching spine-tapes. The tiny text printed on the cover subtly notes: “This memorandum is made of L writing paper white. It is easy to write smoothly.” We assume the L stands for life. May we draw your eye to the L!FE logo at the bottom, with a well-fed exclamation point for the uppercase I.

Nota bene: All pages have a red-margin rule at left. Pages inside the red-stamped cover are otherwise plain; pages inside the blue-stamped cover are also printed with rule lines; pages inside the yellow-stamped cover feature a graph-grid pattern.
